Location: Manchester

Start Date: February 2019

Programme: 6-month paid returnship

Part of the Law Returners Programme

Are you a talented Employment Law professional with the ability to ‘turn the pinstripes up and down’? Are you looking for a better work / life balance but still to get to do quality work with blue chip companies and build great client relationships?

Who is Vista?

Vista is a niche employment law service with a very different offering to the traditional law firms or large employment consultancies. They act almost like an in-house employment law and ER service, providing commercially focused employment law and employee relations advice along with training and e-learning solutions. They are passionate about understanding the needs of our clients and work closely with them in order to provide a unique integrated service delivery model. They are looking for an experienced Employment Solicitor who shares this passion and is keen to work with organisations like Airbus, General Motors, Reckitt Benckiser, Emerson, Home Retail Group and CHEP.

What is it like to work at Vista?

Vista have a great culture where everyone is valued and can contribute to the whole business. People at Vista get to do work according to their skills, knowledge and experience, not their status. They were the first organisation to achieve the new British Standard for Diversity and Inclusion. They are looking to the future and utilising new technology and media to add to the client experience.

Who is Vista looking for?

Vista is looking for self-motivated individuals, who are excited by the prospect of a varied workload, taking a pragmatic approach, innovating and contributing to commercial projects and business development.

You will have solid experience of working with a professional client base, including HR Directors, in large organisations.  Your excellent knowledge of all areas of employment law will have been gained through lots of exposure to respondent work and you will have a practical approach to resolving employee relations challenges. You will have the ability to balance competing priorities and time pressures. Training experience is desirable but not essential, more important is your willingness and ability to deliver innovative and engaging training experiences. If you have experience of working with Trade Unions, TUPE transfers and tribunal representation that would also be interesting to them but if advocacy isn’t your bag then that’s fine!

The role involves regular travel to client premises and employment tribunals across the UK which will necessitate overnight stays, however these are planned in advance.

Vista can offer the successful candidate a competitive salary, pension and benefits, along with a sensible attitude to work / life balance and flexibility, and they welcome applications from under represented groups.
