Tideway Returner Programme 2016
Following the success of the 2015 pilot, we are partnering with Tideway on the second Tideway Returner Programme, helping professionals from a variety of backgrounds to return to work after a long break. This year the programme is extended to include Tideway’s delivery partners: Amey, Costain, Ferrovial Agroman & Laing O’Rourke.
Closing date for applications: Extended to Monday 29th February 2016. Please mention that you heard of the opportunity through Women Returners.
Tideway is launching the Tideway Returner Programme 2016 for talented professionals who want to restart their careers after an extended career break. Based across London, they are offering a paid 12 week internship starting on 19th April for people who have taken a voluntary career break of 2 or more years.
What are they offering?
You will work on significant assignments based on your skills, experience and interests for Tideway or one of their delivery partners. They have a number of opportunities available in the areas of: senior administration, communications, information systems, finance, construction/civil engineering, environment, quality, commercial, human resources and construction project management. The roles will be primarily office-based, requiring a minimum commitment of 30 hours per week.
Throughout the programme you will receive coaching support from Women Returners and you will also be paired with an internal buddy. At the end of the programme you will be ideally placed to apply for permanent or interim roles in the organisation or its partners.
Who is Tideway?
The River Thames is at the heart of London but in recent years, it has often been overlooked. Tideway wants to help change all that, and wants you to be part of their ambition to re-invigorate a much under-used social, environmental and economic asset. Tideway’s task is to deliver a new tunnel to protect the River Thames from the tens of millions of tonnes of sewage pollution discharged into it every year. This is not just an engineering project, it’s about building a London that is fit for your children, and even your great, great, grandchildren.
Tideway and their partners are committed to gender equality and are open to flexible working across the organisation and the partners they work with.
Who are they looking for?
Successful candidates will have had a 2+ year voluntary career break from the workforce and will have a successful track record in one of the disciplines specified in the position profiles.
You will need to have a passion for the project and the legacy it will leave for London, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and enjoy using your expertise to solve problems.
