*What is a returnship?
Through Women Returners for Business, we have led the development of the ‘returnship’ (returning professional internship) market in the UK. Returnship programmes provide a bridge back to senior corporate roles for experienced professional women (& men) who have taken an extended voluntary career break. A returnship is a paid short-term employment contract, with the possibility of a permanent role at the end of the programme. As a participant, you will take on commercially significant work based on your skills, interests and prior experience. Often, training and mentoring support will be provided, together with access to internal networks. You can use a returnship to update your skills and knowledge in your previous sector/role or may be able to transition into a new area.
