Back to Business Programme 2017
PwC UK has launched the Back to Business programme 2017, to help you to transition back into the work place and to give you an opportunity to upgrade your skills after a career break of at least two years.
PwC is looking for Manager and Senior Manager level candidates based in either London or Belfast. They’ve created an environment where everyone, whatever their commitments outside of work, can flourish and reach their full potential. Back to Business is a six month paid senior internship programme, starting 11 September 2017, designed to encourage talented women back into the workplace after an extended career break. The programme is aimed at women, but welcomes applications from all.
PwC’s culture is all about their people. They understand that returning to work after a break may not be easy, therefore, they want to make this as successful and enjoyable for you as possible. The return to work programme is designed to help you transition back into the work environment and give you an opportunity to upgrade your skills. PwC’s approach to workplace gender equality has seen them included on The Times Top 50 Employers for Women 2017 list for the seventh straight year.
The Back to Business programme will include:
- A week long induction with your peers
- A dedicated Partner Sponsor
- Shadowing a member of your team
- Being assigned to real client projects
- Touch points throughout the programme to see how you are getting on
In addition, you’ll receive support throughout the programme to make sure you have a successful experience. Back to Business is an opportunity to make a real impact and contribute to the business. At the end of the six months there may be an opportunity to become permanent depending on performance and desire to continue with the organisation.
Opportunities & Relevant Skills/Experience
The programme is designed for people who are at least 2 years out of work, looking to return at Manager or Senior Manager grade.

The Deals business is an exciting, fast-paced and an ever-growing business that focuses on deals and crisis situations for their clients. Collectively, they deal with the types of situations you hear about regularly in the news and provide support, insight and analysis to the management, shareholders and financiers of business.
Skills/Experience: M&A, financial advisory; valuations; data analytics; modelling; deals strategy; due diligence (financial & commercial); procurement; supply chain; operational restructuring; turnaround projects; disputes; refinancing; insolvency; forensics accountants or lawyers. European languages, ACA or CFA is desirable.
The Consulting team delivers practical, far-sighted advice that gets straight to the heart of clients’ business issues and delivers amazing results by helping their clients improve the way they operate, reduce costs, manage risks, leverage talent or fundamentally change the way they do business. The work you do will be all about helping organisations of all shapes and sizes work smarter and grow faster.
Skills/Experience: Post-Deal (M&A) integration; finance transformation; operations transformation (process improvement, procurement and supply chain); portfolio and programme management; HR transformation; sustainability and climate change; CIO advisory; digital; emerging technologies; corporate strategy; insight and analytics.

Skills/Experience: Experience of executing engagements from start to finish, ACA/ACCA qualification or equivalent, proven ability in leading audit engagements, including planning, controlling and completing a diverse range of assignments.

Skills/Experience: Tax or accountancy compliance skills; HR professionals with a client facing background; qualified solicitors keen to work within a professional services company; qualified Tax professionals with either indirect or deals experience; tax professionals with a focus on either corporate or private clients.
