PwC UK have launched their Back to Business programme 2016, to help you to transition back into the work place and to give you an opportunity to upgrade your skills after an extended period of leave.

They are looking for talented professionals who want to work for an organisation that welcomes a diverse and flexible workforce. The programme supports PwC’s diversity and inclusion agenda of increasing the proportion of senior female talent, but is open to all. The application deadline is Friday 26th August 2016.

This London-based 16 week paid internship, starting on 4th November 2016, will give you the opportunity to work on client projects and build new relationships.

After an initial one week induction, the programme you’ll be supported throughout by a dedicated partner sponsor and have regular touch points to see how you are getting on. A member of your team will be assigned to help with your transition back to work and answer any questions you have. At the end of the programme, there may be an opportunity to become permanent, dependant on your performance and desire to continue with the firm.

Opportunities & Relevant Skills/Experience

The programme is designed for people who are at least 2 years out of work, looking to return at Manager or Senior Manager grade, with previous professional services or corporate industry experience in a client facing role.

The Back to Business programme has opportunities across the firm’s four key areas:


The Deals business is made up of Business Recovery Services, Corporate Finance, Forensic Services and Transaction Services. They focus on the transactions and crisis elements of the business from strategic public office procurement advice, insolvency of underperforming businesses and international take-over bids to economic crime investigations.

Skills/Experience: M&A, financial advisory, valuations, data analytics, modelling, due diligence (financial & commercial), procurement, supply chain, operational improvement, turnaround projects, disputes, forensics accountants or lawyers. European languages, ACA or CFA is desirable.


The Consulting team comprises of experts in fields including Management Consulting, Technology and Strategy. They deliver practical advice that gets to the heart of business issues, driving business transformation which delivers quantifiable benefits.

Skills/Experience: Post-deal (M&A) integration, finance transformation, operations transformation (process improvement, procurement and supply chain), portfolio and programme management, HR transformation, sustainability and climate change, CIO advisory, digital, emerging technologies, corporate strategy, insight and analytics.


The Audit business has a diverse client base ranging in size from local, national to global level and a breadth of skill and expertise.

Skills/Experience: Experience of executing engagements from start to finish, ACA/ACCA qualification or equivalent, proven ability in leading audit engagements, including planning, controlling and completing a diverse range of assignments.


The Tax business includes Corporate & Indirect Tax, Human Resource Consulting and PwC Legal. They integrate people, processes and technology, helping the clients enhance their tax management oversight and integrating governance, risk and control management with specialist tax delivery.

Skills/Experience: Tax or accountancy compliance skills, HR professionals with a client facing background, qualified solicitors, qualified tax professionals with deals experience or tax professionals with a focus on corporate or private clients.
