How will you benefit from Law Returners?
The paid 6-month programme will enable you to refresh your skills, knowledge and experience, taking on a professional placement, with the possibility of ongoing employment at the end of the programme.
You will receive internal mentoring, together with expert coaching support from Women Returners to help you to transition successfully back into the workplace. As coaching support will be delivered centrally, you will benefit from a large supportive peer network of like-minded professionals.
The Law Society will provide you with technical training, informal mentoring from their Back to Law Ambassadors, networking opportunities and other legal support.
Who are the employers looking for?
The programme is targeted at women and men with a legal background who have taken an extended career break (over 12 months) and who now want to get back into the workforce using their professional skills and experience. Each company will have different additional criteria according to the roles available.
Due to the focus of the Returners Fund, applications are particularly welcome from people who have taken time out to look after children or elderly/sick relatives. You may have been working on a small-scale basis to fit around your other commitments or have not done any paid work for a number of years.
