JLT is delighted to partner with Women Returners to offer a placement opportunity on the returners programme in Scotland supporting women back into work. JLT promotes an environment where every employee is valued and has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
This 16 week paid placement will provide you with a route back to work. You’ll have the opportunity to refresh your technical skills and the ability to achieve real objectives, whilst enjoying interesting and varied work. You’ll also be part of a diverse team that value innovation and creativity. During your placement on the programme, you’ll benefit from coaching support from Women Returners in a cohort peer group and you’ll also have an internal mentor to guide you along the way.

What part of JLT does this role sit in?
This role sits in the JLT Investment Solutions business (part of JLT Employee Benefits) which provides investment management, investment consulting and fiduciary management services to individual and institutional investors.
JLT Employee Benefits offers a single centralised source for all pension and benefit requirements, from pensions, investments or actuarial consulting through to administration; from flexible benefit packages to financial planning and wealth management.
The role – Investment Consultant
You will have responsibility for a portfolio of clients with the aim of providing cost-effective, timely, relevant and accurate information, investment advice and service to clients. This will primarily cover the core areas of Investment Strategy, Asset Allocation, Manager Selection, Implementation and Performance Monitoring.
This role will require you to provide and also work with Associate Consultants to co-ordinate tasks to provide an exceptional service to clients. You’ll also have the opportunity to provide support to the Investment Consulting Senior Consultants and Directors for the larger clients that the team service.
What are they looking for?
- Holds or started working towards one or more of the following qualifications – CFA, MBA, FIA, IMC
- Ideally degree educated
- Worked with and influenced a variety of stakeholders
- Preferable to have relevant industry experience: insurance, pensions and related benefits including benefits outsourcing and wealth management / financial services / outsourcing providers.
- High standard of oral and written communication skills is essential
- Financial and commercial acumen
