Highways England Returners Programme – Bridging the Gap is a programme aimed at experienced professionals who have taken a career break of 2 or more years and are looking to build their career again. Working within one of their business areas, there are a range of exciting opportunities available where you will gain some great experience. Future opportunities with Highways England are also a real possibility, whether that is on a permanent or an interim basis. Apply by Sunday 3rd June 2018.
About the Programme
Roles are available for people with relevant or transferable skills in the following areas:
- Project Management
- Business Improvement and Customer service
- Information technology
- Engineering (including Health and Safety and Lean)
During the programme you will have a supportive line manager and a mentor, as well as coaching from Women Returners, to ensure you have all you need to be successful in a business that is in a period of growth.
Highways England recognises that sometimes it’s not easy to be in a full-time 9-5 position and therefore they are open to a range of flexible working options.
Highways England is not only interested in people who have had previous experience in their chosen field – they want talented individuals who share their values and behaviours. It’s more about the work you’ve done rather than the industry you’ve come from. They’re looking for people who want to grow with them and be part of their journey.
If you can demonstrate how you put safety first, how you take ownership of your work and work effectively in a team, if you show passion for what you do and show integrity in how you do it – then you could be a great fit for the programme.
