They have a growing Family team, split into two disciplines –  Public Law and Private Law. They service clients at their Blackburn, Chorley and Preston Offices. They have a strong ethos of being ‘one team’ and there is a good dialogue between the offices. The teams are busy and the work is diverse.  Forbes prides itself on reputation and the cases that come to the family team are a testament to that.

Based across three offices, the Commercial Property team has grown significantly over the last few years. Clients include large national and international companies plus a substantial number of local SMEs and private individuals. The team deals with the full range of commercial property work, including some prominent, high value transactions and is experiencing notable growth in development work. The team is open and friendly, with flexibility on office location and home working where appropriate.

Opportunities available

There are a variety of opportunities available with Forbes and they all provide a supported route back into the legal profession. During the 6-month programme you will have an internal mentor, benefit from Career Returners Coaching provided by Women Returners and be part of the Manchester cohort of other returners on the programme.

Who are they looking for?

Within the Private Team at Blackburn they are looking for a maternity cover. The nature of the work is majority privately funded, but does include some legal aid work. The caseload includes divorce, separation, financial remedy, children and domestic Violence.

Within the Public Team in Preston they are looking to recruit someone who has the passion to work purely in the arena of children matters arising out of social services intervention. The right person should have a passion for continuity or service and have a wish to undertake advocacy. Preferably, they will have a knowledge of legal aid.

Within their Commercial Property department they are seeking a solicitor – working within a supportive team the role will include a wide range of commercial property transactions, including sales and purchases, leases, secured lending and corporate support work.
