About Clark Holt
Clark Holt are a niche law firm specialising in business law, set up in November 1995 with the objective of being a completely different sort of law firm. Nearly all of the employees come from City firms or large regional practices, and they believed, and still believe, that a small team of highly-experienced lawyers can provide a much better, friendlier and cost-effective service than most larger firms. There are 24 lawyers and support staff in the firm, working in the areas of Commercial/IP/IT Law, Commercial Property and Corporate Law. More than half of their solicitors, and all three of our departments, are ranked as Leading Lawyers by Chambers Guide, the leading objective annual guide to the legal profession – one of the highest proportions in the UK.
Clark Holt concentrates as much on entrepreneurial solutions as on friendly, pro-active legal advice and pride themselves on their commitment and pragmatic approach to their clients’ best commercial interests. They also believe in having fun. They have one open-plan office in Swindon Old Town, with good road (M4) and rail access. They chose Swindon as a base because of its central geographical position – just an hour and a half from all major commercial centres in the South and the Midlands – but most of their clients come from much further afield. For more information see the Clark Holt website.
Clark Holt will offer a competitive salary, pension contributions, PHI, BUPA and life cover. They expect their lawyers to time-record, but have no hours or billing targets as such. They rely on a team ethos for their success.
