Barclays is delighted to partner with Women Returners, to bring talented women into the workplace after a period away. As part of the Scottish Government funded initiative, they are recruiting for placements across multiple business areas, such as Wealth Technology, Wealth Operations, and Corporate.

Each placement lasts for 16 weeks, where Barclays will give you support and mentoring to enable you to continue your career with Barclays if the right opportunity is available.

You’ll also receive coaching from Women Returners to help make your transition back to work successfully and benefit from a peer support group of other women on the programme.

Opportunities available

Project Manager – Wealth Technology

As a senior member of the team, within Wealth Technology, you will be responsible for leading significant projects from inception through to implementation. Wealth Technology service delivery is platform agnostic and can include pure business transformation outcomes.

The role:
• Responsible for the successful delivery of projects to plan, budget, agreed quality and governance standards.
• Managing three plus complex projects simultaneously
• Manage project teams throughout the full delivery lifecycle
• Delivery of projects supporting the business strategy from business case through to initiation, requirement analysis, design, build, testing, implementation and closure

Skills and experience:
• Experience in working in a project environment and communicating with individuals from various business or functional areas
• Relationship management skills, ensuring all stakeholders are engaged and updated appropriately
• Experience in presentations, verbal reasoning and conflict management
• Ability to manage a number of activities against deadlines

Client Onboarding Specialist

CIBD Operations provide a trusted and resilient transaction processing capability to the Barclays UK and Barclays International trading entities. They are the primary provider of Group Wide shared services for Onboarding/KYC, Industry Regulations, off-boarding, Payments, Sanctions, and AML. This is all underpinned by a robust and reliable control environment.

The role:
• End to end delivery of all on-boarding activity related to an aligned client group
• Escalation point for the Client Onboarding Analysts
• Managing and overseeing complex cases and providing expert level technical advice on all cyclical on-boarding activity.
• Review and implementation of all relevant processes and ability to identify improvements that will assist the teams to provide a Best-In-Class client on-boarding service.
• Training the team on policies and systems and ensuring any regulatory driven changes are communicated effectively
• Project and stakeholder management skills in order to lead complex client projects

Skills and experience:
• Previous experience of AML/KYC gained within investment or corporate banking
• On-boarding or due-diligence experience
• Experience of reviewing complex structures, PEPs and/or Sanctions screening
• Experience of using approved KYC vendor sources e.g. Dun and Bradstreet, Companies House, and others.
• Legal knowledge in terms of corporate law and structure
• Understanding of KYC regulations

Technical Business Analyst

As the Technical Business Analyst within Transaction Monitoring, you will be responsible for leading technical business analysis activities for TM solutions. You’ll also assist the Programme Manager in accomplishing programme goals and supporting business objectives.

This role sits within the Data & Digital function of Wealth Operations in Barclays. Data & Digital Operations provide Data Control, Data Analytics, Data Visualisation, Automation & Change Management services for our commercial and investment bank.

Project Manager – Smart Investor Technology

Smart Investor Technology supports the Digital Investing business by providing the Direct to Consumer Digital Investing platform, Smart Investor. With more than 300,000 clients and £12bn in assets, Smart Investor enables individual investors to invest in funds, equities and fixed income instruments. Smart Investor is the successor to the highly-rated Barclays Stockbrokers online service, and the focus of the Technology team over the coming years is the delivery of a world-class investments service, adding new products, services and channels to the existing offering.

Reporting to the Head of Smart Investor Delivery, the Project Manager will take responsibility for the end-to-end delivery of Technology projects. These could involve the delivery of a new product or service, changes to comply with legislation or responsibility for an individual release comprising a range of system changes.
