About Aberdeen Asset Management
Aberdeen Asset Management is one of the world’s largest independent asset managers by assets under management. As a pure asset manager, they are free to focus all their resources on their core expertise. Investment strategies are only managed for third parties, allowing them to put client interests first. Aberdeen is one of the few standalone asset managers to be listed on the London Stock Exchange. They are a full-service global asset manager, ready to harness all asset classes to create effective solutions for their clients. While always retaining flexibility to be tactical, they take a long-term view of companies, markets, and economic trends.
Aberdeen’s size of operations, locally and internationally, has changed dramatically since it was founded in 1983 via management buyout, but their strong culture has prevailed. Aberdeen has built a business based on simplicity, clarity and straight talking. Diversity is a subject close to their hearts: it is important for them that the businesses in which they invest do not limit themselves in the way they recruit and how they develop their people, and this applies to their own business too. They are committed to recruiting and retaining talented and motivated individuals from the widest pool of talent. Aberdeen is a signatory of the Women in Finance Charter, pledging to reduce the gender pay gap at senior management level and increase gender diversity.
